2024 Nervous tissue dwarf fortress - I had problems with stockpiles with Charcoal (coke / coal). The Stockpile group is under Bar -> Other (irrc) -> Coal (iirc) The trick is at the bottom of the list in the stockpile settings is the Additional Options. This contains two settings, basically Organic and Inorganic material. Charcoal is considered Organic, while Coal is considered not.
